As a Product Manager for Hardware Carriers at DefSecIntel you will play a critical role in transforming our engineering-led, project-based approach into a product-centric development strategy. You will own the end-to-end roadmap for hardware carrier platforms that integrate seamlessly with our advanced C2 software and sensor solutions, catering to defense, security, and mission-critical environments.
What you will be doing:
- Own the hardware lifecycle strategy across customer fleets
- Define and manage the hardware product roadmap in line with overall architecture and market needs
- Drive productization efforts for hardware platforms used in defense applications
- Develop strategies for modularity and scalability in hardware systems
- Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers to conceptualize and evolve platform designs
- Lead design sprints, PoCs, and field evaluations of hardware solutions
- Ensure platforms are ready for seamless integration with C2 software and various sensor packages (e.g., EO/IR, RF)
- Define and document serial production requirements including CAD readiness, BoMs, and assembly guides
- Coordinate with supply chain, logistics, and QA to ensure on-time delivery and compliance.
- Integrate DFM and DFS principles into product development.
- Lead field data collection and analysis for continual improvement and retrofitting
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience in hardware product management in industries such as defense, robotics, automotive, or rugged electronics
- Deep understanding of mechatronics, modular hardware systems, and integration challenges
- Familiarity with CAD tools, BoMs, and mechanical specifications
- Ability to translate user needs into actionable engineering requirements
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience in defense and security operations, including understanding of military doctrines and battlefield structures
- Familiarity with C2 (Command & Control) systems and real-time mission platforms
- Background in industrial design, mechanical, or systems engineering
