Mechanical Engineer
Who we are:
At DefSecIntel Solutions, we protect what matters by building systems that operate where failure is not an option.
We deliver combat-proven, end-user-driven defence and security solutions for Europe’s border security, defence, and critical infrastructure protection. Our platforms are designed for real operational environments and are already trusted in the field.
We develop, manufacture, and integrate mobile autonomous surveillance systems, unmanned surface vessels, and counter-UAS solutions, all connected through AI-powered command-and-control.
With a talented team of 100+ people, DefSecIntel is headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia, with additional manufacturing and maintenance capabilities in Ukraine.
We work closely with leading international partners including the EU and NATO, and contribute to major defence R&D programmes such as the European Defence Fund.
Join us to build mission-ready systems for today’s needs and tomorrow’s challenges, and help shape the future of Europe’s security.
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer who will own the mechanical design of subsystems and products from early concept through production. In this role, you will ensure structural integrity, manufacturability, and performance requirements are met across the full product lifecycle.
What you will be doing:
Turning product and stakeholder requirements into well-defined mechanical system concepts and specifications
Performing hands-on engineering analysis, including FEM, load, stress, and thermal calculations to validate designs with healthy safety margins
Designing, specifying, and selecting mechanical components with a sharp eye on performance, cost, and availability
Creating production-ready technical documentation such as 3D CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and design specifications
Defining and executing functional and environmental test plans, then debugging and resolving issues from prototype through production
Collaborating across electrical, software, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to deliver fully integrated, buildable solutions
What we are looking for:
Demonstrated experience designing mechanical systems that progress from concept through prototype and into production
A proven ability to independently design mechanical systems and components in relevant, production-grade applications
Confidence to take a lead role in design work, owning solutions end-to-end from concept through testing and delivery
Practical knowledge of manufacturing technologies such as milling, welding, sheet metal, and similar processes
Nice-to-haves:
A strong educational background in a relevant field such as mechanical, product development, or mechatronics, along with solid knowledge of key tools and domain fundamentals
Experience with military-grade or automotive system design and component selection for demanding environments
Proven expertise in design for manufacturability, with a track record of translating designs into efficient, scalable production solutions
What we offer:
Meaningful work that supports our mission to create a safer and more secure world
The opportunity to work with a talented team and contribute to the development of innovative technologies and solutions
Flexibility in how and where you work, depending on role and project needs
Opportunities for professional growth and skills development as the company and projects evolve
Recognition for helping grow the team through employee referrals
A focus on employee well-being, including access to health- and sports-related benefits
Social activities and team events that strengthen collaboration and team spirit
